Chael Sonnen is back, and he is swinging for the fences

Chael Sonnen is free to fight, and it looks like he wants to fight everyone, especially anyone from Brazil.

Sonnen sat down with MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani prior to UFC 132 and he was in classic form. The full 19-minute interview is below.

Sonnen throws bombs at nearly everyone from Brazil, especially Anderson Silva and Wanderlei Silva. Despite his attacks toward Team Blackhouse, it appears that Sonnen will make his return to the UFC against rising middleweight, Brian Stann.

I don’t know that Sonnen will be able to insult an American hero and make people laugh, but we will have to wait and see.

NSAC’s Keith Kizer explains Testosterone Replacement Treatment and its role in MMA

The Nate Marquardt-testosterone replacement treatment story is something that has become a hot-button issue in today’s MMA.

It was first brought to light this past fall with Chael Sonnen and now has become the reason Nate Marquardt couldn’t compete at UFC Live 4 last Sunday and subsequently was fired by Dana White and the UFC.

Nevada State Athletic Comission’s Executive Director, Keith Kizer, spoke to Tapout about TRT and how it can be properly done and why it is important in MMA.

Cleary the athletic commissions feels that TRT is an acceptable thing for fighters that need it, but the rules still seem a little lenient.

Nate Marquardt’s weight cutting video

NBC Sports posted the following video on Nate Marquardt cutting weight for what was supposed to be his UFC welterweight debut on Sunday night.

Breaking sports news video. MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL highlights and more.

Nothing seems wrong in this. His weight seems to be on point. The Pennsylvania Athletic Commission will be having a press conference at 4 p.m. ET to talk about the situation. It should be interesting to see what develops.

UFC 135 just keeps getting better: Gomi vs. Nate Diaz booked

UFC 135 is already shaping up to be a pretty interesting event with Jones vs. Rampage and Hughes vs. Sanchez, but now it is even better.

MMAFighting.com is reporting that Nate Diaz is making the move back down to lightweight and will face Takanori Gomi.

What has me and other fans excited about this is the legendary matchup between Nick Diaz and Gomi back at Pride 33. Diaz won via submission, but the bout was ruled a no contest after Diaz failed a drug test after the fight.

Still, it was a very entertaining fight, which you can see below. Hopefully Nate Diaz and Gomi can recreate this bout to a certain level.

Ortiz and Mitrione get into verbal exchange at UFC Summit

Something interesting happened at the UFC Summit this weekend, and it wasn’t Dana White explaining to fighters how to do their taxes.

None other than “Big Country” Roy Nelson caught this little verbal exchange between Matt Mitrione and Tito Ortiz.

Now, the background behind this encounter is that Mitrione had some unflattering remarks that he made about Ortiz’ wife, Jenna Jameson.

Mitrione was joking that Ortiz would pull out of his upcoming UFC 132 fight with Ryan Bader and let Jameson take the fight instead, claiming she is good off her back and has amazing top control.

Now, granted, I wouldn’t want someone talking about my wife like that and would be pretty upset if they did. However, if I married the world’s most famous porn star, I would probably expect that to happen.

Instead of going after a younger and stronger fighter in Matt Mitrione, Ortiz should just remain focused on Bader and ending a four year winless streak.

Then again, Ortiz is probably just trying to set up another fight for himself after he loses to Bader.
