Your weekly MMA TV Schedule update

nullAnother Sunday night means another MMA on TV update for the week.

This week, there is a pretty light load, but here is a look at the MMA content that will be airing:

– On Wednesday, the seventh episode of The Ultimate Fighter will air on SpikeTV at 9 p.m. ET. The prelim fights are complete and the wild card fighters have been chosen. Now the quarterfinals will be set with the wild card match and coaches Brock Lesnar and Junior dos Santos will compete in the annual coaches’ challenge.

– On Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on MTV2, Bellator 44 will take place from Caesar’s Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ. The main event is the Season 4 Lightweight Tournament final with Patricky “Pitbull” Freire (9-1) taking on Michael Chandler (7-0). Another featured bout pits Middleweight Champion Hector Lombard (27-2-1) taking on Falaniko Vitale (28-9) in a non-title fight.

Here is a look at the MMA content that will be airing this week:

– On Wednesday at midnight (late Tuesday night) the Countdown to UFC 129 will debut on SpikeTV. The preview show will highlight all the major bouts of Saturday’s UFC 129 and give you a behind the scenes look at the fighters involved. The show will re-air on Thursday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 6 p.m. on Spike and Thursday at 7 p.m. Friday at midnight on Versus.

– On Wednesday, the fifth episode of The Ultimate Fighter will air on SpikeTV at 9 p.m. ET. Team dos Santos now holds a 3-1 advantage on Team Lesnar. It is clear that Brock Lesnar is getting somewhat frustrated with the losing and if may be affecting his team. Will the former champ be able to rebound this week?

– On Thursday at midnight (late Wednesday night) UFC 129 Primetime airs its last of the three episodes. The show is following Jake Shields and Georges St. Pierre as they prepare for their UFC 129 welterweight championship fight, which takes place this Saturday. The third episode airs on SpikeTV and will be replayed at 1:30 a.m. and 11 p.m. It will also be aired on ESPN2 at 11 p.m. on Wednesday night.

– On Saturday, UFC 129 takes place from the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. A record crowd of 55,000 is expected to be on hand to watch St. Pierre and Shield battle it out for the welterweight title. Jose Aldo will also be defending his featherweight championship for the first time against Mark Hominick and Lyoto Machida will take on Randy Couture in what Couture has said will be his final fight in the UFC. The PPV will begin at a new start time of 9 p.m. ET and 6 p.m. PT. There will be free prelims starting at 6 p.m. ET on Facebook and two live prelims airing on SpikeTV, starting at 8 p.m. ET.

Here is a look at the MMA content that will be airing this week:

– On Wednesday, the fourth episode of The Ultimate Fighter will air on SpikeTV at 9 p.m. ET. Team dos Santos took a 2-1 edge in the prelims last week and regained control of the fight picks. This week, Lesnar brings in fellow wrestler Matt Hughes to work with his team.

– On Thursday at midnight (so to some that is Wednesday night) UFC 129 Primetime airs its second of three episodes. The show is following Jake Shields and Georges St. Pierre as they prepare for their UFC 129 welterweight championship showdown on April 30. The second episode airs on SpikeTV and will be replayed at 1:30 a.m. and 11 p.m.

– On Saturday, Bellator 42 takes place from the Lucky Star Casino in Concho, Okla. The show will air live on MTV2 at 9 p.m. ET. This event features a main event of heavyweight champion Cole Konrad taking on former UFC heavyweight contender, Paul Buentello. The fight will be a non-title contest. The light heavyweight tournament semifinals will also take place as Tim Carpenter faces off with Christian M’Pumbu and Richard Hale squares off against D.J. Linderman.

Here is a look at the MMA content that will be airing this week:

– On Wednesday, the third episode of The Ultimate Fighter will air on SpikeTV at 9 p.m. ET. The teams are tied at 1-1 but it appears as if both teams have some dissension this week as Brock Lesnar gets into his team and Junior dos Santos has some disagreements with one of his assistants.

– On Thursday at midnight (so to some that is Wednesday night) UFC 129 Primetime debuts. This three-part series will follow Georges St. Pierre and Jake Shields as they prepare for their UFC welterweight championship fight on April 30. The show airs on SpikeTV and will be replayed at 1:30 a.m. and 11 p.m.

– On Saturday, Bellator 41 takes place from Cocopah Resort and Casino in Yuma, Arizona. The show will air live on MTV2 at 9 p.m. ET. The event features a pair of champions competing in non-title fights as bantamweight title holder Zach Makovsky takes on Chad Robichaux and featherweight champion Joe Warren faces off with Marcos Galvao. The Featherweight Tournament semifinals also will take place with Daniel Straus facing Kenny Foster and Wilson Reis taking on Patricio Freire.

Here is a look at the MMA content that will be airing this week:

– On Wednesday, the second episode of The Ultimate Fighter will air on SpikeTV at 9 p.m. ET. Coach Brock Lesnar is looking for his first win while Junior Dos Santos is hoping to get a 2-0 start to the season.

– Friday night has HDNet airing Maximum Fighting Championship 29: Conquer which has two title bouts. Welterweight champion Douglas Lima will defend his title against UFC veteran Terry Martin and light heavyweight champion Ryan Jimmo will take on Zak Cummings in a title defense. Other fighters competing that night include former UFC contender Hermes Franca, Pete Spratt, and Marcus Davis. The event takes place from Caesars Casino in Windsor, Ontario and will air at 10 p.m. ET.

– On Saturday night at 10 p.m. Strikeforce presents Diaz vs. Daley live on Showtime from the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. The show is headlined by a welterweight title fight between champion Nick Diaz and challenger Paul Daley. The Strikeforce Lightweight Championship will also be up for grabs as Gilbert Melendez defends his title against Tatsuya Kawajiri. The card also features a light heavyweight contest between Gegard Mousasi and Keith Jardine.

– Another show airing live Saturday night is Bellator 40 from the First Council Casino in Newkirk, Oklahoma. The show will air live on MTV2 at 9 p.m. ET. The main event is a non-title fight between Bellator Welterweight Champion Ben Askren taking on Nick Thompson. The show will also have the final lightweight tournament semifinal between Lloyd Woodard and Michael Chandler and the final welterweight tournament semifinal match between Brent Weedman and Jay Hieron.
